Why Learner Drivers Chose An Automatic

With Williams Driving School.

Callum Lant,Teignmouth

Mollie Bragagnolo.

“I chose Williams Driving School because of their good reviews, high pass rate and friendly instructors. I was also after automatic tuition which they offer.
I found learning to drive to be much better than I thought it would be. Especially having my driving instructor Guy teach me who was very patient and understanding. Guy was great at explaining all parts of driving in great detail and answered all my questions.
I will absolutely be recommending the school to others as they were very good at making appointments available and have friendly instructors!”
Automatic Lessons Customer Review Paignton Amy Hands

Amy Hands.

“I chose Williams Driving School as I wanted a school with good reviews. I also wanted a school who would be reliable, competent with lots of experience.
I found learning to drive to not be as scary as I thought it would be. My Driving instructor Guy Parfitt had very helpful teaching methods and used techniques that helped me remember when I started to struggle. It also made manoeuvres easier to learn. Guy also asked if I had any areas or anything I wanted to learn at the beginning of my lessons. When my test came around he gave me some very useful tips that helped me, like to keep my eyes moving, left is best etc.
I will recommend the school to others as you all seem a happy close knit family wanting to help everyone succeed.”

You Ask – We Answer

Will i Drive On My 1st lesson?

Yes, you will definitely be driving on your first lesson.

If you are new to driving, your Instructor will drive you to a suitable location to get you started. It’s vital that your first few lessons are conducted in an area that will ensure your success and build your confidence.

Your Instructor will take a few minutes to record your licence details, test your eyesight and explain how to adjust your seat, head restraint and make sure you are comfortable.

He/she will then explain the controls that you will need to operate during your first lesson.

You will then be given a briefing on the move off and stop procedure with a short discussion to ensure you understand what is required. Your Instructor will then give you full talk through and guide you through your practical driving session. You will be able to learn at your own pace and your lesson will progress as and when you feel ready.

All your lessons will be structured to ensure you receive the maximum value for your money. Your early lessons will be in quiet areas, mainly on housing estates so you can build your confidence.

Full details on our unique Accelerated Learning System can be accessed by watching the main video on this page titled ‘Save Your Time and Money’.

See our Automatic price lists for more details.

Do you offer intensive or crash courses?

Yes, we offer intensive driving courses/ fast pass courses

Please click the ‘Are we the right school for you’ Button for a full explanation of the services we offer.

Do you offer lessons in an Automatic vehicle?

Yes we do.

Please click the Yellow ‘Lesson Prices’ Button just above the four ways you can make contact for full lesson pricing details.

How many lessons a week do you recommend?

We find that taking a 90 minute or 2-hour lesson every week, proves to be the most successful strategy for most students. 90 minute or 2-hour lessons would be far more beneficial to you. You will learn far more for your money and you will also be test ready in half the time. You will have a decent amount of condensed learning in one go with time to digest and be focused for your next lesson

Taking a regular weekly lesson has proven success as it provides continuity, the retention of knowledge and it will reduce your learning period. We will aim to offer you a regular lesson slot that you can book in advance and keep from the time you commence your lessons until you pass your test.

You will also be able to book more than one lesson slot per week should you wish to reduce your learning period and be test ready sooner. (Subject to instructor availability)

Do You Offer Pay As You Go?

Yes, we do, however your lessons do have to be pre-paid 48 hours in advance. We prefer not to accept cash on the day of your lessons, but you are most welcome to pay each week as you go using your preferred method of payment.

Once you are booked in your driving instructor will give you a password for the ‘pay now’ page.

Do you offer lessons at weekends or just during the week?

Yes, we do offer lessons on Saturdays and Sundays.

Weekend lessons are always in high demand and will be subject to availability.

How many lessons do you think I will need?

It’s almost impossible to know until you begin your tuition.

The DVSA suggest that the average is around 46 hours, but we find that most of our students are test ready much sooner. It really does depend on the individual, but our recommendation is to book ten hours of lessons and once completed, you will have a much better idea of the number of lessons you will need.

Where can I find payment options?

The shop facility on this website 24/7 – Find the shop link in the top menu

Card payment over the phone during the working week between 9am and 6pm

Once you are booked in your driving instructor will give you a password for the ‘pay now’ page.

Do you come to me or do I have to come to you?

We will always pick you up at your preferred location. That could be from College, your home, work or anywhere else you choose. We will also drop you off at your preferred location.

Do you have female instructors?

Yes we have lady instructors covering nearly all are locations.

How long is the waiting list?

It really depends on when you would be available to take your lessons.

If you would like to contact us by using one of the four methods towards the top of this website with the days and times you are available, Dave & Sharon, who are our customer services staff will check and get back to you ASAP.

How come you are more expensive than others?

That is a very good question.

Most people wrongly assume that all driving instructors are the same!

I have produced several videos on this website to help you make the correct decision, avoid the costly mistakes and to avoid being one of the 30% of local learners that feel the need to change their driving instructor before test day.

Please check out the main video on this page ‘How To Choose Your Driving Instructor’. You will be glad that you did!

Do you teach people with learning difficulties?

Yes, we do but it will depend on the circumstances.

Our instructors do not pretend to be experts, or do they possess special training for certain disabilities. The best advice I can give is to contact our customer services and discuss your requirements, so they can attempt to match a suitable instructor.

Do you offer one-hour lessons?

Just to be clear and give you a balanced view, there is nothing wrong with 1-hour lessons, we just feel that they offer less value for your money as they prolong the learning period substantially. Another of the drawbacks is having to take time from your lesson to drive to a suitable location that is relevant to cover the topic and then having to drive back again. So, should you prefer to take less than 90-minute lessons, we would not be the right driving school for you as we don’t offer them.

You can research further by watching the video on this website – Are we the right driving school for you?

What is your 1st time pass rate?

We are very proud of our 1st time pass rate and our instructors deserve a lot of credit for their hard work. It’s impossible to give the exact % as we have tests almost every day and it will continually change.

Checking out the main video on this page ‘How To Choose Your Instructor’ will help you make the correct decision and avoid the costly mistakes that force over 30% of all local learners to change their instructor before reaching test day.

More Information
  • Automatic Driving Lessons.

Williams Driving School have been offering driving Automatic Driving lessons for many years and have built a reputation of being one off the premier driving school in the local area.

Our local automatic driving instructor has been CRB checked for your safety. The driving tuition we offer is client centred, that means we don’t simply tell you what you are going to do but discuss with you a plan of action that you are comfortable with. A good example of this would be: We might suggest that it’s time to tackle the subject of roundabouts but you may not feel ready and prefer to tackle an alternative subject first, so that’s what we would do.

One of our biggest challenges when attracting new students that are learning to drive is that many believe that all driving instructors are the same and I can assure you this is definitely not the case. Why do driving lesson prices vary so much when you can pay as low as £9.99 right up to £50.00 plus?

There are different grades and standards of driving instructors, some instructors take no further development training from the day they qualify where others are continually taking courses and training to keep at the forefront of modern teaching and coaching.

Does this matter to you? YES, because it will reflect on the value you receive from your Driving lessons. The popular and very true saying is: “Beware the hidden cost of cheap”. A well trained instructor offering Automatic driving lessons will enable you to learn much faster and not only get you to your practical driving test much sooner but save you a fortune on the way.

Driving Schools that charge a premium lesson rate are very confident in the quality of customer service and tuition they provide, where an individual instructors working on his/her own may charge a very low lesson rate because they lack recent training and confidence in the service they offer. The question to ask, is why would any driving instructor undersell themselves and offer the cheapest driving lessons in town ?

I mentioned above that Williams Driving School have been able to build a very reputable reputation for Automatic driving lessons by providing customer centred lessons with a strong mission statement of customer success. We rely enormously on recommendations to keep our Automatic instructor busy and are extremely grateful to our customers for the reviews they provide. Talk is cheap and we now live in a customer review society where it is so easy to gain an independent view of a Driving School before deciding who to trust with your tuition.

I would like to wish you every success in your quest to obtain your driving licence whether you choose Williams Driving School as your training provider or one of our competitors.

    Warm Regards, Dave.
