Do you need to have passed your theory test to have lessons?
No but you will need to pass the theory to book a driving test.

How much are the current driving tests?
Currently the Theory test is £23.00 and the Practical Driving test is £62.00. If you require information on any other tests, this can be found on the Driving Standards Agency website.

Do you take card payments?
No, payments can be made by bank transfer or cash.
Do you have Automatic cars for learning in?
Yes, we have both manual and Automatic cars available.

Will i drive on my 1st Lesson
Yes
But if you are a complete novice your Instructor will pick you up from home and take you to a safe location, then your instructor will drop you home again , depending on your home location and the speed you learn this may happen for a few lessons. This is the reason we have the special starter offers.

Why do you have a 48 hour cancellation policy ?
Being a driving instructor is not a highly paid job unlike you maybe lead to believe. But it is my driving instructors’s occupation and like must people they go work to earn money to pay bills and support their families.
So if someone cancels a lesson at short notice or doesn’t turn up for the lesson this will affect their income. Which in turn will affect their ability to pay their own bills. So this is why we have a 48 hour cancellation policy.
If you really do need to cancel your instructor will try his or her upmost to fill the space so you don’t get charged but this is not always possible.

Booking:
Lessons are booked at the current rate for the full duration of any offers or promotions.
All lessons are booked on an advanced pre-paid basis. Payments can be made in cash directly with your instructor, via a BACS bank transfer directly with your instructor.

Lesson Pre-Payment
Payment must be made in full within 24 hours of booking. If the balance is not paid to either Williams Driving School or the Driving Instructor directly, the lesson will not go ahead.
Vouchers:
All lessons are a minimum of 90 minutes, Vouchers valid for 6 months from Purchase date and cannot be exchanged for cash
Should a refund be required for any reason part way through a voucher lessons already taken will be charged at the full hourly rate and not the promotional offer rate.
Vouchers: Covid 19
All pre-purchased voucher will be extended by 6 months due to Lockdown restrictions, if you wish to extend the voucher longer you must contact the office by the time the extra 6 months has expired.
If the expired voucher was for a Special offer and this offer is no longer available the voucher will revert to its Money Value.
Having a voucher will not help you jump the waiting list.
Money Paid pre Covid 19 from the 1st sept 2022)
Restriction for the last lockdown were lifted in April 2021 and the driving school reopenned for lessons, this has given anyone over 12 months to arrange lessons that were paid for pre-lockdown. So as of 1st September 2022 any lessons paid for will no longer be honoured, unless there has been an agreement between the pupils individual instructor. Each instuctor has a large number of pupils and is not expected to chase individual pupils.
Cancellations:
A minimum of 48 hours’ notice before the start of any booked lesson must be given. Lessons cancelled within this period for any reason will be fully chargeable at your current lesson rate.
Failure to arrive for any lesson within 15 minutes of the start time will result in the lesson being abandoned and will be fully chargeable at your current lesson rate.
Should an instructor arrive late for a lesson the full lesson time booked will be delivered.
Should a pupil arrive late for a lesson (within 15mins of start time-please see above T&C’s) the remaining time of the booked lesson will be delivered.
If an instructor cancels for any reason there will be no charge for the cancelled lesson and an alternative date and time will be offered.
Special starter offers.
The reason we have this special starter offers is because your Instructor will pick you up from home and take you to a safe location, then your instructor will drop you home again. Only when your instructor is happy you are safe you will be able to drive home. This can be depend on your home location and the speed you learn.
Offers and Promotions:
Introductory offers and promotional packages are booked at the current rate for the full duration of the offer and are not transferable to any other offers or promotions.
Only 1 Offer per Student.
Should a refund be required for any reason part way through a promotional package or offer, lessons taken will be charged at the full hourly rate and not the promotional offer rate.
Money Back :
Should you stop your lessons with your Williams Driving School instructor with Money out standing, this money will be kept safe for a period of 6 months, after the 6 month period no refund will be given. It is not the responsibility of the driving instructor to contact you about the said money. Any money paid is the responsibility of the instructor not the Driving school.
